Annual membership and application fees
Membership fees for April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027:

Annual membership fees are not subject to GST or HST.
Application fees
All membership applications are subject to fees that are comprised of pro-rated annual membership fees for the relevant membership category, and a non-refundable application fee.

If you are applying to become a Fellow of the CIA (FCIA), your application must include certifications of your work experience, as outlined in the following document:

Incomplete applications or failure to meet the requirements outlined in the FCIA Application Guidelines will result in rejection of an application.
Candidate, Student and ACIA applications are approved on a monthly basis. Applications received prior to the 15th of the month will have a membership effective date of the 1st of the following month, if approved.
Membership renewal FAQ
To remain a member in good standing, you must renew and pay your fees in full by May 31, 2026.
If you do not renew your membership and pay your fees by the deadline, your CIA membership will be terminated.

Your membership fees can be paid by credit card on our secure payment site. Accepted credit cards are VISA, Mastercard and American Express.
- Log in to your account on the CIA website.
- From the member portal, find the membership renewal banner and click Renew now.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Review your information and securely pay your invoice online.
- Your invoice and receipt will display in the language preference you have set in My Profile.
No, all members must renew their own membership through the member portal by the deadline.
If your employer provides reimbursement, your invoice and receipt are available for you to submit to your employer once you have completed the membership renewal process. Go to the member portal and click on My orders, then select the appropriate invoice.
You will be asked during the renewal process whether you qualify for a partial waiver of dues.
