- Competitive base pay: Ensuring your compensation keeps pace with Ottawa’s consumer price index, every three years we review our salary administration to accomplish base-pay competitiveness within the Ottawa market.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Coordinator, Education provides support to ensure the successful delivery of CIA education programs leading to the onboarding and qualification of Student, Candidate, Associate and Fellow membership in the Institute. The incumbent is a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Institute’s e-learning platform and supports all virtual and in-person education programs as well as general support to the Education and International Affairs department and relevant volunteer groups as required.
JOB DUTIES
Course development and validation
- Is a subject matter expert in all aspects of the Institute’s e-learning platform.
- Create new courses, assessments and formal examinations in the e-learning system and maintain content and user data on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate testing and approval processes prior to course release dates.
- Identifies new features within the system that could benefit the CIA’s learners and facilitate ease of administration of the e-learning system.
- Troubleshoots technical/user issues with the platform and connectivity to the CIA membership database.
- Monitors registration for education products to ensure users gain access to courses and exams.
- Provide support for member and non-member registration activities related to education offerings.
- Coordinate participant attendance, host virtual platforms for courses.
- Provide data updates to IT for coordination with CIA membership database as required.

Professionalism Workshop
- Coordinate all aspects of the Professionalism Workshop including recruiting qualified facilitators, updating information for conducting speaker training.
- Ensure CIA website information provides all upcoming workshop dates and liaise with meeting services to ensure registration site is accurate and runs according to established timelines.
- Ensure accurate attendance tracking for ACIA/ASA/ACAS credit and ensure education partners receive accurate information as required.
General education system support
- Assist with other virtual and in person education programs from planning to delivery, and post-event evaluations, analysis, and reporting as required.
- Create and send post meeting evaluation surveys for education programs.
- Assist with document control in volunteer collaborative spaces.
- Develop and edit documents and coordinate review and translation by the communications department as required. Coordinate website updates with the marketing department as required.

This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the examination process, from development to results dissemination, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
JOB DUTIES
Examination development and validation
- Is a subject matter expert in all aspects of the Institute’s e-learning platform.
- Create new assessments and formal examinations in the e-learning system and maintain content and user data on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate testing and approval processes prior to course release dates.

Grading and analysis
- Coordinate post-examination grading, analysis, and reporting, and participate in calibration processes and appeals.
- Prepare for grading by volunteers of the CIA by uploading to exams to the ERS and ensure graders have account access in ERS.
- Prepare grading workbooks and files and coordinate with grading teams.
- Assist with the analysis of exam results to identify patterns and trends and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare initial reports on exam statistics for the Manager’s and/or Actuary’s – Examinations review and input.
- Prepare and expedite exam result letters to examination participants.
Support and communication
- Provide exam-day support and grader orientation.
- Prepare participant grading data for analysis, grading, and reporting.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to CIA education courses and programs, as well as general education and qualification requirements.

The Coordinator, Membership will support the membership team in managing the CIA’s membership program. This role involves assisting with membership applications, member recruitment, retention, and engagement activities. The incumbent will handle administrative tasks, communicate with members, and help organize membership events and initiatives.
JOB DUTIES
- Maintain application (quarterly/monthly) deadline calendar.
- Verify supporting documents against CIA membership qualifications (Students,Candidates, ACIA and FCIA).
- Correspond and troubleshoot with applicant for any missing information or errors in the application.
- Knowledgeable in the CIA’s policies, procedures, regulations, qualifications and relevant transition rules with regards to membership enrollment and reinstatements.
- Assist in ensuring application fees are received before releasing the application for committee review and approval.
- Resolves any major membership application issues with the candidates prior to escalation to the Manager, Membership or Actuary, Education.
- Escalate any major application issues to the Manager, Membership.
- Coordinate the sending of congratulatory e-mail to the new members informing them of their admittance to the profession.
- Coordinate the development and printing of welcome letters from the President and Executive Director to newly designated members.
- Coordinate the printing of ACIA certificates and FCIA diplomas with the selected printing house.
- May process reinstatement applications and provide background information (written and verbal) to the Actuary, Education.
