The fees for CIA education-related products and programs are reviewed annually and typically updated on April 1. Fees are subject to change.
Associate (ACIA)
- Module 1: $765 (retake $382.50)
- Module 2: $1,275 (retake $637.50)
- Capstone Exam:
- Spring 2026: $1,400
- Fall 2026: $1,430
- Professionalism Workshop: Between $825 and $840
- Held from January to June, and from September to November
Fellow (FCIA)
- Module 1: $1,430 (retake $715)
- Module 2: $1,430 (retake $715)
- FCIA exams:
- Spring 2026: $1,350 per exam
- Fall 2026: $1,375 per exam
- Advanced Professionalism and Leadership Course: $1,955
Additional information
- Language availability: Modules, exams and workshops are offered in English and French. Language-specific availability is noted on the relevant course or exam listing.
- Membership requirement: You must hold a Student, Candidate or ACIA membership to register for CIA education products.
- Retake fees: Reduced registration fees apply to modules only. Participants who did not successfully complete the module within the allotted time may re-register at 50% of the original cost. To register for a retake, contact [email protected].
- Refund/cancellation policy: Refund and cancellation fees vary by product type. ACIA‑related products are subject to a $100 fee, except for the Capstone Exam ($200). FCIA‑related products are subject to a $200 fee. Full details are available on the individual registration page for each module, exam and workshop.
- Professionalism Workshop: Written cancellations submitted up to two weeks before the workshop are eligible for a refund of the registration fee. Refunds are subject to a $100 administrative fee. To request a refund, submit your cancellation request in writing to [email protected]. Cancellations made less than two weeks before the workshop are non-refundable; exceptions may be considered on an individual basis. The CIA has the right to cancel this workshop if necessary. In the event of cancellation, registration fees will be refunded. The CIA is not liable for any other costs incurred by participants.
- ACIA modules: Cancellation requests submitted after registration and before accessing (i.e., logging in to) the platform may be eligible for a refund. Send cancellation requests to [email protected]. Refunds are subject to a $100 administrative fee.
- ACIA Capstone Exam: Cancellation and refund requests for the ACIA Capstone Exam must be submitted to [email protected]. Refunds are subject to a $200 administration fee.
- FCIA modules: Cancellation requests submitted after registration and before accessing (i.e., logging in to) the module may be eligible for a refund. Send cancellation requests to [email protected]. Refunds are subject to a $200 administrative fee.
- FCIA exams: Cancellation and refund requests for FCIA exams must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Refunds are subject to a $200 administration fee.
- Examination appeal: A non-refundable administrative fee (approximately $300) applies to all examination appeals. Please carefully review the Policy on the CIA Examination Appeal Process before submitting an appeal.
