Initial Communication of a Promulgation of the Mortality Table Referenced in the Standards of Practice for Pension Plans (Subsection 3530)

The Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) proposes to promulgate the use of the mortality rates underlying the combined 2024 Canadian Pensioner Mortality Table (CPM2024, amount weighted) along with the MI-2024 mortality improvement scale for commuted value calculations, effective February 1, 2027. A separate initial communication in respect of the promulgation of a mortality basis for capitalized value calculations subject to subsection 4530 is being published concurrently.
