Final Communication of a Promulgation of the Mortality Table Referenced in the Standards of Practice for Capitalized Value of Pension Plan Benefits for a Relationship Breakdown (Subsection 4530)

At its meeting on August 31, 2026, the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) decided to promulgate the use of
the following mortality table, effective April 1, 2027, for capitalized value calculations:

• Base mortality table: the combined 2024 Canadian Pensioner Mortality Table (CPM 2024),
  reflecting amount-weighted rates, separate rates for males and females, and no separate
  mortality table for survivors, as published in the 2024 Canadian Pensioner Mortality Research
  Project Report (Mortality Base Table Report).
• Mortality improvements: MI-2024 improvement scale as published in the Mortality Improvements
  Research Report (Mortality Improvement Report).
