Honouring our 2025 scholarship recipients

The scholarships were awarded during the CIA gala dinner at the 35th ANÉA-ASNA Convention, January 18, in Niagara Falls. The recipients exemplify the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and academic excellence, serving as role models for the broader actuarial community.

Prioritizing excellence and inclusion

The CIA and ASNA partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a vibrant and equitable actuarial community. By supporting the next generation of actuaries from diverse backgrounds, these scholarships underscore the profession’s dedication to equitable representation and fostering future leaders.

CIA President Conrad Ferguson, FCIA, emphasized the significance of this initiative: “We are proud to empower future leaders from diverse backgrounds to achieve their career aspirations. These scholarships play a crucial role in fostering equitable representation and diversity within Canada’s actuarial community.”

ASNA VP Business Relations Vishal Aggarwal added: “Being part of ASNA and helping organize this year’s convention has been incredibly rewarding. It’s inspiring to see how the CIA, through initiatives like the DEI scholarships, creates equal opportunities for growth, learning, and networking for all, regardless of background. These initiatives have deepened my appreciation for the actuarial community and the ways in which we support one another.”
