This report presents summaries of the research grants that the CIA has awarded over the past few years, covering a diverse range of actuarial topics such as composite spatial-temporal analysis of insurance losses due to natural catastrophes, provincial models of pandemic business interruption insurance, integration of traditional and telematics data for efficient insurance claims prediction, volatility-targeting strategies in lifetime pension pools, thinking through the broad consequences of Ontario’s promise to increase LTC beds and minimum hours of care, territory definition model for private passenger automobile insurance.
