Accessibility and Commitment to Customer Service

We are committed to providing accessible and equitable service to our diverse customers. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) represents a legislative milestone in Canada. The Institute will promote and contribute to a more inclusive society by facilitating full compliance with, and demonstrating leadership in, the Ontario Customer Service Standard.

For more information, please consult the CIA Accessibility Statement.

Violence and Harassment

The CIA believes that every volunteer and staff member has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal opportunity and is free from all forms of violence and misconduct. The CIA will not tolerate, ignore, or condone workplace violence and harassment from full-time, part-time, probationary, or contract employees, volunteers, agents, or contractors.

We encourage all CIA volunteers and staff to raise any concerns about workplace violence and harassment and to report any violent incidents or threats or any incidents of workplace harassment, including sexual harassment, regardless of who the offender may be.

For more information, please consult the Volunteer Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy.

Wrongdoing and Whistle-Blowing

The CIA is committed to the highest standards of openness, honesty, and accountability. If any wrongdoing or illegal behaviour by the CIA or any of its volunteers, employees, or contractors is identified and reported to the CIA, it will be thoroughly investigated and remedied as appropriate.

We encourage all CIA volunteers, members, and stakeholders with a complaint or concern about the CIA’s activities to report it.

For more information, please consult the Volunteer Whistle-Blowing Policy and Response Procedure.

To report violence, harassment, wrongdoing, or any other concerns, please email [email protected].

The Institute will respect the confidentiality of all complainants. Concerns will be investigated as quickly as possible.
