Guide on Conflicts of Interest for Actuaries now available

The Professional Conduct Board, formerly the Committee on Professional Conduct, is pleased to release its Guide on Conflicts of Interest for Actuaries. Prepared with the assistance of Fasken, the CIA’s legal firm, this guide provides practical guidelines to actuaries as they exercise complex and professional judgment in dealing with conflicts of interest while fostering their best understanding of their responsibilities in this respect.

This guide imposes no new obligations on members and their employers, nor does it alter any guidelines on conflicts of interest currently in effect at the Institute. Rather, it offers members a useful tool in assessing whether conflict exists and how to handle it appropriately.

For any questions, contact Michel Simard, CIA Executive Director.
