Michel Grignon
Michel Grignon is a professor in the Department of Economics and the Department of Health, Aging and Society at McMaster University. He is editor-in-chief of the journal Health Reform Observer – Observatoire des Réformes de Santé and is also an adjunct scientist at l’Institut de recherche, d’études et de documentation en économie de la santé (IRDES) in Paris, France. He was the director of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis (CHEPA) from July 2011 to April 2017. Before joining McMaster in July 2004, he worked at the IRDES. Born in France, he obtained his master’s equivalent at l’École nationale de la statistique et de l’administration économique (ENSAE-ParisTech), and his PhD at l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales, also in Paris. Mr. Grignon has extensive international experience in research projects and activities in health economics, health-related policies, health insurance, and aging. His current research projects cover a broad range of topics, including financing of long-term care in an aging society, the determinants of healthcare expenditures, and inequities in health across the life cycle.
