Maria Govorun
Maria Govorun is director, integrated analytics at Munich Re. She combines her experience in academia and practice to build predictive models to optimize processes in life and disability insurance.
In 2009, Ms. Govorun completed her PhD in applied math, primarily focused on phase-type modelling of aging and mortality. Prior to joining Munich Re in 2015, she participated in a number of research projects funded by organizations such as the French Community in Belgium and the Fields Institute in Canada.
Prior to her academic career, Ms. Govorun worked as a life actuary in AIG Life Russia in parallel with work for an actuarial consulting start-up dealing with valuation of employee benefits and stochastic modelling for pension funds.
