Lori Curtis

Dr. Curtis holds a PhD in economics from McMaster University. She is currently a professor in the Department of Economics and the director of the South-Western Ontario Research Data Centre at the University of Waterloo. Her research examines the relationship between social policy and the health and well-being of marginalized populations, including poor women, children, and Indigenous populations. Dr. Curtis’ work in the healthcare field, as a registered nurse, in government, as a specialist in economic evaluation, and in academia, provide her with a unique set of experiences which she brings to health and social policy research. Her current research examines gender differences in retirement and pension policies.
