Mathew Greenwald

Matt Greenwald is a recognized financial and research expert with more than 30 years of experience in financial services and market research. He founded Greenwald & Associates in 1985 after eight years as the director of social research for the American Council of Life Insurers. In addition to providing strategic direction for the company, Matt plays an active role designing and analyzing survey research and conducting focus groups with consumers and financial professionals. He has written many articles concerning the demographic changes brought on by the baby boom generation, the value of annuitization, and changes in the financial attitudes and behaviors of the American public.

Matt has testified before the American Senate Committee on Aging, and served as a congressionally appointed delegate to the 1998 and 2002 National Summit on Retirement Savings. With the Employee Benefit Research Institute, Matt helped to establish the Retirement Confidence Survey, the longest-running annual benchmarking study examining workers’ and retirees’ retirement attitudes. Matt is an elected member of the Market Research Council, an inductee in the Insured Retirement Institute’s Hall of Fame, and was one of the founders of the First Group, an organization for some of the top researchers in the financial services industry.
