Peter Sousounis

Dr. Sousounis is director of meteorology and assistant vice-president in the research and modelling group at AIR Worldwide. He is currently responsible for overseeing all global atmospheric model development including hurricanes/typhoons, extratropical cyclones, and severe thunderstorms, and for providing leadership for issues relating to climate change. Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Sousounis was a professor of meteorology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Sousounis has graduate degrees in meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Penn State University and has nearly 100 publications on various topics concerning weather, climate, climate change, and catastrophe modelling.
