Disciplinary process

The Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) is the national organization of the actuarial profession, and its members are subject to the professional and ethical obligations as set out in the Institute’s Rules of Professional Conduct and the Standards of Practice. Members failing to meet these obligations are subject to the Institute’s disciplinary process as set out in its Bylaws.

The Institute has a comprehensive complaints, investigation and discipline process. Should a member of the public wish to enquire about the qualification or report on the conduct of an actuary, they should contact the Executive Director of the CIA at [email protected] or the chair of the APOB at [email protected].
