2019–2020 Fee Structure and Dues Information

On March 27, 2019, the Board of Directors approved the following membership fee structure for 2019–2020 as recommended by the Human Resources, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (HRFAR):

Dues cover the membership year from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.

Important information regarding your dues payment

  • Annual dues are not subject to GST or HST.
  • Online credit card payments may be made by clicking Pay My Dues in the Quick Links menu and following the on-screen instructions.
  • Online banking payments require your six-digit member ID number.
  • Canadian cheques should be made payable to the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Please include your six-digit ID number on the cheque.
  • Payments made by international bank draft or money order must be drawn on a Canadian bank.

This membership year, fees increased by 2.0 per cent to support the implementation of the strategic plan. The following figure provides a breakdown of how membership dues are allocated.

Resignation and related service fees

Resignation notices are due prior to the start of the new membership year, June 1. Resignations received after this date will be subject to a monthly service charge for each full or partial month from June 1 to the effective date of resignation.

  • Appropriate payment must accompany the request for resignation for it to be processed.
  • Any delay in sending full payment of the service charge will result in a delay of the effective resignation date.
  • Failure to pay the service charge may result in termination of enrolment for non-payment of dues.

Termination of enrolment for non-payment of dues

Failure to pay annual dues or the applicable fee or service charge 90 days after the start of the membership renewal period may result in termination of enrolment. Please ensure your membership information is up to date in the My Profile section of the member portal.
