Jacque Friedland is the 2020–2021 President-Elect of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. She will become CIA President in July 2021.

Friedland has been practicing in P&C insurance for over 35 years. She now heads her own consulting firm in Toronto, J. Friedland Actuarial Consulting Inc.

Friedland is a CIA gold award winner, in recognition of her extensive volunteer career with the Institute. She started volunteering in 2006 as Chair of the Task Force on Materiality. Since then, she has been very involved in many CIA activities and initiatives, namely education, standard-setting, international and public affairs, and professionalism. She has also served on the CIA Board.

Friedland holds a bachelor’s degree in business, management information systems, from the University of Georgia.
