Last Chance to Submit Your Research Paper for Consideration at the International Congress of Actuaries 2018 – Deadline is September 1

The Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) is pleased to announce our participation in the International Congress of Actuaries (ICA) Young Researcher Award Program, in conjunction with the ICA 2018 Congress, June 4–8, 2018 in Berlin, Germany.

The Young Researcher Award Program will recognize and reward research by individuals in the early stage of their career, and provide a chance for them to present their work to an international audience. The CIA will choose one member of the Institute to represent Canada at the ICA, and will cover their costs to present their winning thesis or paper at the Berlin Congress.

What Papers Are Eligible?
We are looking for papers or theses on an actuarial topic, authored by a young researcher who is a member of the CIA at the beginning of their career. The paper must be in line with the topics selected for the Congress, which are listed starting on page 8 of the ICA 2018 call for papers.

Due to the short time frame, completed papers or those that will be complete by September 1, 2017 are eligible and do not need to have been published. The paper can be written in either English or French; however, you must provide an English abstract. Papers must be received by September 1, 2017 to be eligible for consideration.
