Last Chance to Register for Lies They Told Me about Being an Actuary and Other Tall Tales

Wednesday, August 30, 2017
Mill Street Brew Pub, Toronto
5:30–7:30 p.m.

The Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) and the Actuarial Students' National Association (ASNA) are joining forces on August 30, 2017 for a unique networking opportunity in Toronto’s Distillery District.

The main event will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Mill Street Brew Pub, Toronto Beer Hall, featuring Trevor Cartlidge, FCIA, on Lies They Told Me about Being an Actuary and Other Tall Tales. Through personal stories of screw-ups, dumb moves, and how misinformation changed his life, Trevor will share the secrets to his success as well as the essential toolkit of the actuary of the future. Caution! Trevor has studied both theatre and actuarial science, so we can’t be responsible for what he might say!

If this sounds like continuing professional development, that could be one reason for attending; however, our goal is to have fun, make new acquaintances, sample some great food and drink, and hopefully enjoy good weather in Toronto as summer comes to a close.

We’ll wrap up the evening with an optional tour of the Distillery District beginning at 6:45, including shops, restaurants, and beer and chocolate tasting.

Just a few spaces remain, so book by August 25, 2017. A nominal $10.00 registration fee reserves your spot.
