In Memoriam: Past President Robin B. Leckie, FCIA(1965), FSA(1957)

Former CIA president Robin B. Leckie passed away in Toronto on July 19. He was 87.

Mr. Leckie graduated from the University of British Columbia with an honours BA in 1953. He spent his entire career at Manulife Financial, retiring in 1988 as senior vice-president and chief actuary.

CIA President from 1975–1976, he also served as President of the Society of Actuaries from 1980–1981. A gold volunteer award recipient in 2015, Mr. Leckie volunteered with the Institute from its inception until 2003. He served on 11 volunteer groups including the Mortality Committee, the Younger Actuaries Committee (1965–1968), the Committee on Professional Conduct, the Committee on Life Insurance Financial Reporting, and of course, the Board.
