Disclosure of Criminal Conviction New Requirements – Assessment Procedures and Report on Disclosures to Date

The new requirement for CIA members and new applicants to the Institute to disclose any criminal convictions became effective on September 1, 2016.

The Committee on Professionalism (PROF) has developed Disclosure of a Criminal Conviction Review and Assessment Procedures which have been approved by the Eligibility and Education Council and are posted to the CIA website for members’ information.

Pursuant to the Policy on Disclosure of Criminal Convictions, the PROF has also produced a Report on Criminal Conviction Disclosures – March 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017, which provides members with a list of the criminal convictions disclosed during the stated period.

It should be noted that per the transitional measures related to the disclosure requirements, the deadline for disclosing criminal convictions that occurred prior to September 1, 2016 was July 1, 2017, which accounts for the higher number of disclosures during this period.

Further information regarding the disclosure procedure is available here. (You must be logged in to the CIA members’ site to view this page.)
