Call for Session Proposals: 2019 Enterprise Risk Management Symposium

Do you have an idea for an educational session that is relevant, engaging, and appeals to actuarial professionals at home and abroad?

The CIA, the Casualty Actuarial Society, and the Society of Actuaries (SOA) are accepting proposals for sessions at the May 2–3, 2019 Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Symposium.

Share your fresh and innovative perspective on topics such as the following:

  • Stress and scenario testing;
  • Capital framework;
  • Predictive modelling and ERM;
  • Cyber;
  • Innovation;
  • Risk appetite;
  • Operational risk;
  • Model validation; and
  • Investment.

When developing your proposal, remember to think about the following:

  • Delivering the content in an engaging way;
  • Making sessions educational and not a forum for an individual company or product;
  • Including the names of potential presenters interested in sharing their expertise;
  • Having presenters from a variety of companies (minimum of two companies);
  • Making sure presenters speak at no more than two sessions; and
  • Discussing particular case studies.

Submit your proposal online by December 17. The form should be filled out completely in order to be considered by the committee. If you have a colleague who is an expert on a particular topic, please let them know about this opportunity.

If you have questions, please contact Ronora Stryker, research actuary at the SOA.
