CIA Webcast - ASOC Public Meeting - December 12, 2014

The mission of the Actuarial Standards Oversight Council (ASOC) is to serve the public interest by supporting the Actuarial Standards Board (ASB) in its mission, overseeing its work, and providing input on its activities. The ASOC has a broad, public-oriented perspective of the complex issues facing the ASB, due to the composition of its membership, which is made up of experienced individuals from inside and outside the actuarial profession.

The ASB, founded in 2007, is an independent body responsible for establishing actuarial Standards of Practice in Canada.

You are invited:

WHO: The public, journalists, and actuaries

WHAT: ASOC Public Meeting

WHEN: Friday, December 12 (lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m., and the meeting  will begin at 12:30 p.m.)

WHERE: The Delta Toronto Hotel’s Parkdale Room, 75 Lower Simcoe St., Toronto, ON

WHY: Because you have an interest in actuarial standards of practice as they relate to pensions, insurance, and benefit programs.

Join us to share your thoughts on the ASOC, the ASB, and the actuarial standard-setting process.  Attendance at the meeting can be used towards CPD professionalism credits.
