  • Specialist Program in Actuarial Science

Description of the Actuarial Science Program:

Students who enrol in the four-year Specialist Program in Actuarial Science are prepared to write Exam P (CAS Exam 1). By the end of their second year, students will have taken courses to earn credit for Exam FM (CAS Exam 2). At the end of their fourth year, students will have taken courses to earn credit for Exams MLC (CAS Exam 3L), MFE (CAS Exam 3F), and C (CAS Exam 4). In addition, there are courses in the program related to material in some specialty Fellowship exams.

* ACT 240 completed before September 2017 cannot be used alone to qualify for a credit for FM/2. 

** ACT 245 completed before September 2017 can be combined with ACT 370 and ACT 460 completed after September 2017, subject to the three year sunset clause.

  • Institute of Actuaries of Australia (IAA): AIAA, FIAA

The CIA does not guarantee that credits granted to candidates under the CIA UAP will be recognized by any other actuarial organizations towards their actuarial designations.
