Who is Eligible?

Individuals who meet all of the following requirements may apply for the CIA Graduate (Master’s) Scholarship Program:

• Students applying to enter a graduate program in actuarial science or a cognate discipline in Canada beginning in January 2017 or September 2017. (A master’s program in mathematics, statistics, business, or finance with an actuarial concentration may also be eligible, but preference will be given to applications from departments with a recognized actuarial leader/researcher.)
• Candidates who receive an undergraduate degree in actuarial science or in a related discipline before August 31, 2017. 

• Candidates who demonstrate interest in pursuing a professional actuarial designation. (Preference will be given to students pursuing professional actuarial exams and/or CIA exemptions.)

Please note the following:
• Master’s programs focused solely on the preliminary actuarial exam syllabus are not eligible.
