How is the CIA
Involved in CERA?

In November 2009, the CIA joined with 13 other actuarial associations from around the world in signing the Global Enterprise Risk Management Designation Recognition Treaty. This treaty made “CERA” the single ERM designation for actuaries, with recognition by all of the signatories. It also made provision for a local actuarial association to award the CERA to its members after meeting stringent conditions, including a review of its education system, to become an award signatory.

The CIA was granted the authority to award the CERA designation in the spring of 2011.
